BEEJ - Mercy Corps "Host Community Rehabilitation Project" COMPLETION REPORT June 2005 This report describes the complete phases of this project from inception till end and all the dynamics faced in the process with future recommendations.
This report highlights the activities of the project “Introduction of Community Forestry and Enhancing Livelihoods of Rural Communities” for the period of July 2004 – May 2005. The project is being implemented by BEEJ in partnership with EU UNDP Small Grants Program to Promote Tropical Forests (SGP PTF) in Pakistan. The project is being implemented in union council (UC) Kingri district Musakhail Balochistan.
BEEJ & ISCOS-CISL Training Workshop on "Worker's Rights" BEEJ in coordination with ISCOS-CILS conducted the first four day regional training on Worker Rights for 13 community based organizations. The title of the workshop was "Strengthening Civil Society Participation to Promote and Defend Workers Rights".
Only 60% primary age children in Pakistan attend school, a much lower rate compared to neighboring countries. Moreover, the gender gap is large. There are less than 50 girls to every 100 boys enrolled in primary education.
On September 4, 2003, the organization signed a contract with the National Commission for Human Development for implementation of a project for promotion of primary education and adult literacy in district Mastung.
